Our goal is to enhance our integration of these two factors, which are important parts of successful corporate acquisitions.
The Entrepreneur’s standpoint in regards to corporate acquisition, naturally, is to manage and create enterprise value. In most cases the Entrepreneur has accumulated professional expertise in the business world and is now willing to use these skills to manage and develop companies. In successful corporate acquisition, the Entrepreneur is crucial in replacing the “old owner” and enhancing the business.
In most cases, an Entrepreneur’s own economic resources are limited but there is often desire and skills to potentially justify acquiring a larger company. On top of traditional financiers, investors are needed and our desire is to bring these two together. Today’s Investors are not only Private Equity type investors but there are also several private investors, family offices, ex-entrepreneur investment companies etc. available in the Finnish marketplace. These new investor types want to utilize the skills of the Expert. On the other hand, they can offer, for example, Board experience to supplement the missing skills of the Expert. This provides the opportunity for both sides to succeed. We aim to combine all these elements and structure successful corporate acquisitions.
At present there is a considerable demand for good quality Companies. A common misunderstanding is that the current acquisition market activity is low but this is not the case. Due to the Central Banks activity, there is a lot of cash to be spent on corporate acquisitions and market participants are willing to do it. Successful Companies are valued fairly, so it’s a good time to sell a business. Many buyers are eager to find new business opportunities and as an owner, you can take advantage of this situation with confidence. A good example to mention is a corporate acquisition we just completed. Muottikolmio Oy was sold to Machinery (belongs to Yleiselektroniikka Group). We had previously sold Muottikolmio Oy, just before the financial crisis in 2008. The new owners started to run the business in the middle of the financial crises, yet the Company continued on and was profitable. It was a great experience, after 10 years, to be part of the process of transferring a thriving business that will continue to profit its new owners.
